Library of Congress To Celebrate Publication of the Hispanic Yearbook

The Library of Congress will host a reception to mark the publication of the 17th edition of the "Anuario Hispano/Hispanic Yearbook" on Tuesday, April 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Southeast Pavilion of the Thomas Jefferson Building, 10 First Street, S.E., Washington, D.C. The event is free and open to the public. For reservations, call the Hispanic Division at (202) 707-2003.

The reception will be hosted by Librarian of Congress James H. Billington, Deputy Librarian of Congress Donald L. Scott, Representative Robert Menéndez (D-N.J.) and Representative Silvestre Reyes (D-TX). In addition to the hosts, speakers will include Marine Corps General James L. Jones, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, and Commander, U.S. European Command. General Christopher Cortéz, and Argentine Ambassador Mario Amadeo will also address the gathering.

It contains a directory of U.S. government organizations, and listings for Hispanic Members of Congress, Luso-Hispanic embassies and consulates in the U.S., and Hispanic organizations and business development centers nationwide. It also contains data on educational opportunities and publications of interest to Spanish speakers.
