Drawings by Garrett Price (1896-1979) may be restricted. Privacy and publicity rights may apply.

Access: Permitted; subject to P&P policy on serving originals, which requires the use of digital images in lieu of the original drawings, when available.

Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying, photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair use"): Permitted subject to P&P policy on copying, which prohibits photocopying of the original drawings.

Publication and other forms of distribution: May be restricted.

1. The copyrights on drawings published in The New Yorker are owned by Cartoonbank. Requests for permission should be made to:

Requests should be submitted in writing or by e-mail, accompanied by a printout of the catalog record and a statement of the proposed use.

2. The copyrights on drawings published in other publications my be held by the publisher or other party.

3. Works published before 1923 are now in the public domain.

4. Unpublished works created but not registered for copyright before January 1, 1978 may be protected by copyright law until 2027 (the life of the creator plus 70 years, whichever is longer.)
