They were both attending a sailing regatta on the Isle of Wight and were introduced at a reception hosted by the Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII. Randolph wrote this letter just two days later. It seems to have been love at first sight, and the wedding took place the following April. Object Details: Holograph letter.
