Rick Atkinson

Rick Atkinson

Rick Atkinson, a former investigative reporter and assistant managing editor of The Washington Post, is a three-time Pulitzer Prize-winner for national reporting, public service, and most recently, history (2003). He is the author of An Army at Dawn: The War in North Africa 1942-1943 (Henry Holt, 2002), the first volume of the Liberation Trilogy, a narrative history of the U.S. Army in North Africa, Italy, and Western Europe during World War II. Currently, he is working on subsequent volumes in the trilogy. He lives in the District of Columbia.
