Jules Feiffer
Cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter, and novelist Jules Feiffer first attracted national attention in 1956 when he introduced an innovative cartoon feature "Sick, Sick, Sick" in the pages of the Village Voice. For more than 40 years, his achievements have won him international recognition and numerous awards including the 1961 Academy Award for the animated version of his short story "Munro," and the 1986 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. Mr. Feiffer continues his nationally syndicated weekly cartoon and monthly op-ed cartoon for the New York Times. His most recent book, By the Side of the Road (Hyperion, 2002), is one of several books he has written for children. Mr. Feiffer lives in New York.
